Fine Arts Competition

Each year, upper elementary, middle, and high school students compete in the Georgia Association of Christian Schools Fine Arts Festival. Competition is divided into five broad areas: Bible, Music, Speech, Art, and Academic Testing. Each area is subdivided into a wide variety of categories (see below). High school students who place may be offered the opportunity to compete in the national American Association of Christian Schools Fine Arts Competition. Students are encouraged to compete in at least one category, and many choose to compete in multiple categories. This program gives students opportunities to discover and develop their talents.

Choir

Choir is offered as an elective for upper elementary, middle, and high school students. In choir, students are introduced to the foundational principles of music, basic voice technique, and performance etiquette. Choirs perform in several concerts and programs throughout the year, as well as Fine Arts Competition.

Piano Lessons

Mrs. Wendy Stephens offers individual piano instruction on a weekly basis for OSCS students. For more information, please contact the school office.

Dramatic Productions and Programs

Students of all ages have the opportunity to participate in a play or program throughout the year at OSCS. Lower elementary students enjoy putting on a fun Thanksgiving program, upper elementary students delight friends and family with a full-length Patch the Pirate play, and high school students mount a dramatic production in the spring. The Christmas concert is always an annual highlight: upper elementary, middle, and high school choirs, instrumentalists, and performers come together to celebrate the season and deliver the biblical message of the Christmas story.
